How often should I change my mask?
These are single use so that cross contamination is avoided. The mask can be worn for up to 8 hours. If the mask gets damp then it is recommended that you replace it.
Why have 3 pleats on a 3-ply medical mask?
The pleats reduce the risk of fluid penetration by preventing fluids pooling on the mask. They also make the masks more comfortable.
What is the main difference between medical masks?
The main difference between masks is their certification level. Generally higher levels of certification standards require masks to offer higher protection and take into account the wearer's environment. For example you would not need a surgical respirator type KN95 mask in an open environment, KN95 masks are intended for healthcare staff working in high risk Covid-19 clinical applications or where the highest level of protection is required.
