About Joe Delaney

Joe Delaney, author at Vsavi

Vsavi started with a gift. In 2012, Joe's father, Greg, was handed one of the early cigalikes by his brother and sister. He switched off cigarettes, stayed switched, and believed in it enough to build a company around it - so that other adult smokers could find the same way out.

That company grew into Vsavi, and it's why Joe writes these guides today.

Joe first wrote for the family business more than a decade ago, went away to study and work in education and the arts, and came back. He looks after Vsavi's content now, and he writes for a very particular reader: someone thinking about switching and slightly nervous about it, or someone who tried before, blamed themselves when it didn't stick, and is weighing up one more go.

He'd want you to know that when switching fails, it's usually the kit or the nicotine strength that was wrong - not the person.

Vaping products are for adult smokers and existing vapers only. Vaping is not risk-free. Not suitable for non-smokers or anyone under 18.

Who These Guides Are For

Almost everything Joe writes here comes back to switching and keeping it simple. First kits and cigalikes, and how to get the choice right the first time.

Nicotine strengths in plain English. Filling, charging and looking after a device without needing a manual.

Making sense of the Platinum flavour range. And straight, sourced answers to the worries people actually have before they start. If you already run a sub-ohm setup and mix your own juice, these guides will feel basic - they're meant to.

What You Can Expect From Every Guide

  • The kit has been used. If Joe recommends a device, he has filled it, carried it and lived with it - because for a new switcher, whether it leaks in a pocket or lasts the day is what decides whether vaping sticks.
  • Health claims come with a source. Anything about health, safety or the law is checked against a named UK authority - the NHS, the MHRA, Cancer Research UK, ASH, the UK Health Security Agency, and linked in the piece. Vaping is only ever called less harmful than smoking where one of them says so, and never safe.
  • Plain English, no pressure. The aim is that you understand your options, not that you feel sold to. These guides are general information, not medical advice - for a health concern, speak to a healthcare professional.
