It’s time for some you-time. Focus on your wellbeing this January with our range of CBD products and wellness tips.
Now that Christmas has come and gone, the last of the cheese and biscuits have been put away, and normal life has resumed, it’s easy to become caught up in the busyness of the everyday; to forget to focus on the most important person in your life — you.
We believe wholeheartedly in making time and space for self-care in your life, so why not make it your New Year’s resolution to put your wellness first? We’ve put together a helpful guide to get you started.
WELLNESS TIPS FOR JANUARY
GET INTO A ROUTINE
There’s nothing worse than not knowing if you’re coming or going, so establishing a routine you can stick to is key to feeling more settled and balanced in your life. Does rushing around at the start of each day leave you feeling stressed? In the morning, try waking up a little earlier than you usually would and spend time doing something to benefit your mind and body. Reading the paper, meditating, stretching, or having a healthy breakfast are just some things you can do to put you in good stead for the day ahead.
In the evenings, try to avoid being on your phone or watching television late into the night, as this can disrupt your sleep or make it harder to fall asleep. Instead, you could exercise, spend ten minutes meditating with Calm or Headspace, reading, journaling, or have a soak in the bath to relax your body and mind (ideally with Epsom salts) to get ready for the next day.
Sticking to a new routine that gives you time to focus on yourself will not only make you feel happier, but healthier too. You will know where to be and when, and what to do with your time — making the most of any and every day.
PREPARATION IS KEY
If you sometimes feel as though you don’t have a handle on everything, there are steps you can take to get more organised and become more efficient. Many people rely on journaling to help them not only accomplish their to-do lists but to reflect on the day and feel more prepared for what’s ahead. Bullet journaling, a specific style of recording tasks, has become more popular in recent years because it allows even the most disorganised people to totally revamp their lifestyle.
If even just organising your lunch feels like a chore, try to spend some time on a Sunday prepping your meals for the next week. Not only will it save you money, but it’s also one less thing for you to think about each day. Try to get out of the habit of putting things off until the last minute, this won’t benefit you in the long run.
LOOK TO NATURE FOR RELAXATION
There are plenty of supplements you can add into your diet to help you feel more relaxed, focused or healthy:
LAVENDER
Lavender has always been synonymous with calm and tranquillity, and for good reason. Many people take lavender capsules to feel more relaxed and at ease, especially before bedtime. Similarly, using a dehumidifier with essential oils including lavender can create a suitable atmosphere for sleeping — it also just happens to be lovely to look at.
MULTIVITAMINS
If you feel your overall wellness could use some work, multivitamins are a good way to ensure your body is getting what it needs to function properly. Just one pill a day can help you stay topped up on all the good stuff.
CBD & WELLNESS
CBD is fast becoming one of the go-tos for people wanting to improve their overall wellness. Cannabidiol is sourced from hemp and can help support you on your path to a healthy and natural lifestyle. It exists in many forms — as sublingual drops, as balms and creams and as e-liquid for vaping. It’s completely legal, safe and won’t get you high, as it does not contain THC (which has psychoactive properties). By law, all CBD products sold in the UK must not contain more than 0.2% of THC, so you aren’t at risk of feeling any sort of high.
INTRODUCING CBD INTO YOUR EVERYDAY ROUTINE
It’s easy to insert CBD into your new-found routine as it’s such a versatile supplement. You can add a few drops into your morning coffee, vape it when you feel you need it throughout the day, or even try CBD beauty products for your skin.
At its simplest, CBD drops can be taken sublingually; placed under the tongue and allowed to absorb. Alternatively, CBD e-liquids are available, allowing you to vape it. Plus, if you don’t like the taste, there are now plenty of flavoured CBD e-liquids available too, making the experience all the more enjoyable.
Finally, CBD can be combined with other ingredients like caffeine and collagen to create high-quality balms and creams, which are perfect to add into your nightly skincare routine.
GETTING STARTED WITH CBD
START SMALL
Each CBD product you try will have the recommended dosage on the packaging, but we would suggest starting with half that to see what effect it has. Once you recognise how your body reacts to CBD, you can tailor the dosage to your own preferences.
KEEP TRACK
Remember that journal we spoke about? Keeping track of your CBD dosage as well as how you felt that day is a great way to ensure you’re putting your wellbeing first and notice any changes within yourself.
